On pg 1120 of O'Connor, we have a letter to Porter.
On 622-24 of Porter (letters), we have a letter or O'Connor.
I think it could be a fun exercise to take these two authors that we've been putting in conversation and examine their conversation?
It will probably be a letdown.

I defiantly think we need to read the letter between them, although I too don't think it will answer any of my questions.
Oh don't be too hard, Austin :)
I think it is hilarious that Porter's letter to O'Connor is full of grand comments on her place in the literary world, critiques of critics, and name dropping of writer's all the way up to tolstoy...while O'Connor's letter is mostly a description of birds. Rather telling of two very separate personalities.
Relating back to what Daniel said, I definitely noticed the different voices within Porter and O'Connor's letters. As we were discussing in PHPR, these two female writers are very different. Porter is definitely more "feminine" in her writing style while O'Connor is more "masculine." In these letters we see Porter playing a more "feminine" role and O'Connor expresses her disinterest in the social "game" by going on about birds. Way to go Flannery.
