Hi Brad! Great presentation today! I think your topic is very interesting. I like how you described the "setting types" and the cultural locations. Your introduction to your topic was really well done, and gave a great overview of your paper. I am very interested in your discussion of what these different locations represent.

The only question I had was wondering the scope of your locations. I know you are focusing mainly on city (as a sort of hell) and country (as a sort of Eden), but I wondered if you might go into the locations within the locations. For example, in the Geranium and Judgment Day, I think the staircase that the father has to go down could also be considered a transition from one location to another, and could be related to your paper, but I am not sure if you want to get this specific with your locations.

I think it is great that you are using a story that we have not read in class. I personally have not read that story, but it sounds like a really good fit for your story! I also admire that you are delving into "The Violent Bear it Away"! I still find that story really challenging, so I think it is great that you are going to explore it further in your paper. I also think that the other stories you picked will be great for your paper.

Nice job, Brad!
